Our new home at the northern end of the Big Island, Kohala Village Inn in Hawi, was wonderful beyond our wildest dreams. So of course we’re going back! However, all of the rooms at the Kohala Village Inn are now booked! Registration is still open for those who live in the area or have another place to stay.
October 9 – 15, 2016
This year’s staff is off the charts as far as experience goes, beginning with Del Rey and David Egan, two incredible musicians coming over from the mainland with lots to share with ukulele players of all levels of experience. And if you don’t want to play your ‘ukulele all day every day, spend a little time exploring Hawaiian Steel guitar or bass with KonaBob, learn to hula with Robyn Kneubuhl, or just sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of Paradise.
And what a perfect vacation for you and your sweetie…..even if they don’t “uke!” While you’re engaged in learning and playing, he or she can be exploring Hawi, swimming with the dolphins and sea turtles, riding horses in Waimea, exploring local farms and farmer’s markets, hiking to deserted beaches and lush waterfalls, visiting an active volcano, sunning on the most beautiful beaches in the world, reading a book, taking a very beginning ‘ukulele or hula class or any one of the activities offerd at the Kohala Village Hub, then joining back up with you at night in the evenings little local entertainment. And, we have special companion rates just for them!
But what’s the best part of the Hawai’i Island Ukulele Retreat? It’s you, and the folks just like you, who venture across an ocean to celebrate the little instrument with a voice that’s being heard around the world. Who knew there was so much fun to be had with just four strings?
We’d love to have you join us at this year’s retreat! But, even if you can’t make it this year, but are coming to Hawai’i anyway, you can still take advantage of some great discounts on Hawaiian Airlines by using our affiliate link to make your reservations….and maybe join us next year!
Hope to see you all on the Big Island in October! If you haven’t done so already, please “subscribe” to make sure you get all the latest information as it becomes available, including overflow housing options, when they become avilable.
And if a trip to Hawai’i isn’t in your immediate future, you should check out some of the other great events we have lined up (listed on the right) for the coming year.
